Hobby Lobby Stores, a privately held retail chain of arts and crafts stores, is relocating its Mundelein store to Vernon Hills. A lease was signed last month for the former Dominick’s facility located in the Hawthorn Village Commons shopping center at East Townline Road and Lakeview Parkway. The move is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2013.
“The rationale for this move is to increase exposure of our store in a high traffic area. The Mundelein location opened January 1999, and new facility will enhance our customers’ shopping experience by providing a wider and more abundant selection of merchandise," stated John Schumacher, Assistant Vice President of Advertising.
Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK, started as an outgrowth of Greco Products, a miniature picture frames company founded in a garage by David Green in 1970. This major Oklahoma City-based private corporation offers more than 65,000 crafting and home decor products in its stores.
