Crafters have a new option in Vernon Hills, where Hobby Lobby will open for business today (Monday).

The store is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. It replaces the Hobby Lobby that had operated in Mundelein since 1999. 

The Vernon Hills store on Route 60 features 47,000 square feet, giving the business room to offer more merchandise, a Hobby Lobby official said. 

The building, which has undergone façade improvements in recent months, was previously home to Dominick’s.

Hobby Lobby will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays.
