Hopes are high as the Chicago Bears kick off their season at noon Sunday, Sept. 9, against the Indianapolis Colts and rookie quarterback Andrew Luck.

To put everyone in the football mood, we uploaded a video compiliation of Devin Hester kick returns to this post. Enjoy the most exciting moment in football – for a full 10 minutes!

The Bears had a busy offseason adding a playmaker at wide receiver in Brandon Marshall, and depth at runningback and quarterback with free agent signings Michael Bush and Jason Campbell. Rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery also looked promising in presseason.

But will it be enough? Or will their failure to upgrade the offensive line doom the team to another lackluster season?

In what may be the stragest coincidence of all-time, I posted this exact same video to my Twitter account almost an hour before it turned up on here. Kinda funny.

WATCHING THE BEARS GAME, IF THE BEARS CONTINUE TO PLAY LIKE THEY DID TODAY ?? YES THEY WILL HAVE A SHOT.. BEARS ARE PROVIDING THEIR Q--BACK WITH GOOD PROTECTION ABOUT TIME.
BUT NEED TO GO AFTER THE Q--BACK A LOT MORE. CAN'T GIVE THE Q-BACK TIME TO THROW THE BALL, BEARS MUST WORK ON THAT.

49ers can't play the Bears in the Super Bowl. They are both NFC teams.

The Chicago Bears might have a chance to win the super bowl in February 2013. But my favorite team is the Oakland Raiders. And I'm hoping the Raiders win the super bowl on February 2013.

Beating a team that is expected to do nothing this year doesn't make me feel better. I'm still terrified by our O line. I know the Colts have good pass rushers but they were working out a new 3 - 4 system, which takes time to perfect and they still got in. Our defense played like they should against a team where the old Reggie Wayne is their only skill player right now.

I agree with Chela Huss. How we play this Thursday against the Packers will go a long way to showing how we will fair against the top teams this year. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

All that being said, I don't think I've ever had my attention in a Bears game waiver due to them blowing out the other team. It was fun to see us beat up on a team we should beat up on.

I only have room in my heart for one lovable loser: Da Cubs! Bears fans are the most delusional fans on earth! They drink the Koolaid every year like clockwork. Bears will be 500 at best, but I'm going to have to listen to Da idiots well into 2013. Is it over yet?

Bears will have at least 11 wins this year.

Really Luka, the most delusional fans in the ENTIRE world of sports are Cub fans! We call you the big blue buffoons in our house. It's fun to hit the bleechers once a year...but wheres the fun in being a fan of total losers year after year! At least the Bears make the play offs and have been in and won the Super Bowl in my lifetime.
The Cubs have Sucked for the majority of the last 100 years and you people still give them your money and support. Makes no sense to me. I don't enjoy being disappointed and I surely won't pay for it.
Go Bears.

Chicago teams generally suck; it's just what they do and they do a bang-up job of it. If you are looking for a Super Bowl contender to love, seek true love elsewhere.

That's pretty harsh for a town that has had two championships in the last 8 years, the bulls are on the upswing, the cubs...well they have been up and down but are at least trending correctly for a rebuild...and the Bears made moves to position themselves to be contenders, especially offensively.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, "maybe". I do think they have a very good chance of making the playoffs if they can avoid some big injuries. I'm generally not a Bears fan though. Go Packers!

I'm a little worried about the Pack still. Although their defense is a paper sack, I think they will treat this loss as a wake up call and come out firing this thursday. Fortunately this rivalry is one of the "throw out the records" games. Should be a fun one.
