Step right up! A carnival is on its way to Vernon Hills.
A five-day carnival will run from May 8-12 in the Sears parking lot at Westfield Hawthorn Mall.
Rides, games and food will be offered for children and adults by Fantasy Amusement Company.

Vernon Hills officials granted approval for the event last week, with a few conditions. They include a requirement for the carnival company to hire two off-duty police officers to be on hand during the event.
The carnival will run from 6-10 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9; 6-11 p.m. Friday, May 10; 2-11 p.m. Saturday, May 11; and 2-10 p.m Sunday, May 12.
