The Vernon Hills Park District also announced its participation in the program, with the Sullivan and Laschen Community Centers serving as drop-off sites.

"New, unwrapped toys suitable for children, newborn through 16 years old, can be dropped off in the designated Toys for Tots collection boxes in the community centers," according to a press release from the park district. The last day to drop off toys at the community centers is Dec. 12.

Toys will be accepted at the police department, village hall and public works through Dec. 13.
