Vernon Hills Park District's Little Bear Ribfest Begins Aug. 23

Little Bear Ribfest kicks off Aug. 23.

Little Bear Ribfest will be held Friday, Aug. 23 from 6 p.m.-midnight and Saturday, Aug. 24 from 3 p.m.-midnight in Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Parkway.

There is a $5 entry fee. Five vendors will be selling their delicious ribs at a nominal cost including Sweet Baby Rays Barbeque, Real Urban Barbeque, The Full Slab Smokehouse and Bar, Uncle Bub’s BBQ, and Smokin’ T’s Barbeque, a press release states.

Friday night's entertainment begins with Ana Popovic at 7 p.m. Ana's 2011 album, Unconditional, reached number one in the U.S. Billboard and Blues Chart!  Shemikia Copeland, two-time Grammy Nominee, takes the stage at 9 p.m. John Condron, of The Old Gang Orchestra, who recently returned from a tour of Ireland, will perform in the Beer Garden stage at 10:30 p.m., the press release states.

The Red White & Blues Band performs at 5 p.m. on Saturday night. Indigenous, a member of the Jimi Hendrix Tribute Show since 2002, follows at 7 p.m. and Trampled Under Foot, who took First Place in the International Blues Challenge and was a 2012 Nominee for Band of the Year in the Blues Music Award, will take the stage at 9 p.m.
