Abbott Subsidiary Now Owns Deer Path Inn

The historic Lake Forest hotel was bought in December by a subsidiary of Abbott.

The organization that bought the historic Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest in December is a subsidiary of Abbott, according to an article in the Lake Forester.

Lake Forest Investments, LLC bought the inn in December for $9.3 million. It was built as a home in the 1860s and has been a hotel at 255 E. Illinois Rd. since 1920.

An Abbott spokesman told the paper that the company wanted to ensure that the inn is preserved as a historic community asset, both for lodging and dining. A third party will manage the inn and Abbott will not have any direct involvement in operations, according to the article.
