Hobby Lobby to Open Feb. 4 in Vernon Hills

The store will open in the former Dominick's site on Route 60.

Hobby Lobby is set to open at 9 a.m. Feb. 4 in the former Dominick's site in Vernon Hills.

The Oklahoma-based company that the newly-relocated, 47,000-square-foot store will celebrate its grand re-opening that day.

“We enlarge a significant number of stores each year either through expansions or relocations," John Schumacher, assistant vice president of advertising, said in a press release issued by the company. "The original location in Mundelein opened 14 years ago in January 1999. Our rationale for this move is twofold—to increase exposure of our store in a high-traffic area, and to enhance our customers’ shopping experience by providing a wider and more abundant selection of merchandise. The new Hobby Lobby location will allow for expansion throughout the store, with increased merchandise lines in a bigger and better venue."

The new Hobby Lobby store has undergone façade improvements in recent months.
