Walgreens Considers Moving HQ From Deerfield to Downtown

Crain's is reporting that the company has discussed moving into the Old Main Post Office in Chicago.

Walgreens may be pulling up stakes in Deerfield and moving into downtown Chicago, Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting.

The article says the company is eyeing the Old Main Post Office, which spans across the Congress Parkway feeder ramp to the Eisenhower. The company has been in negotiations with the owner of the 2.7 million-square-foot building, but no agreement has been reached, Crain’s reports.

The article quotes unnamed sources, and a company spokesman did not answer Crain’s questions. Walgreens is Deerfield’s largest employer, the article states.
