Hot Rods for Huntington's Disease

The world-famous Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois will be yet again the site of the second annual Hot Rods for Huntington’s Disease charity event. On Saturday, September 13th hot-rodders from all over Northern Illinois will gather in support of efforts to battle this debilitating disease. Hot Rods for HD will run from 10 am until 4 pm and will feature hundreds of souped-up cars and vintage classic vehicles, live music, 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, food/drink and much, much more. For 2013, the first year this event was held, it more than doubled its fundraising goal!

Have you heard of Parkinson's Disease? What about Alzheimer’s? Most likely you have. What about Huntington's Disease? Probably not. An Algonquin family is working harder than ever this year to gather support for research and the treatment of Huntington's Disease. The family says "Word of this disease needs to be heard!" One in every 10,000 americans are affected by Huntington's Disease. There is no cure and it is always fatal.

Danielle Perrott, board member for the Illinois Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America, and her husband Charles, have worked together to plan ‘the event of the summer’ in the name of the disease. Charles and his mother Pamela are both HD positive.
