Do you know an outstanding Lake County Senior Volunteer?

The Lake County Council for Seniors (LCCS) will hold its 32nd Annual Senior Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on May 21. Lake County Seniors throughout the county will be recognized for their contributions to the county and their communities. Special Guest Speaker will be Lake County State’s Attorney Michael Nerheim.

The luncheon will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Ramada
Gurnee-Waukegan, 200 Green Bay Road, Waukegan. Meet-and-greet at 11:30 a.m.; lunch at noon.

The luncheon continues a 32-year tradition of honoring Lake County Seniors. The Lake County Council for Seniors has, since 1984, honored more than 425 individuals for their outstanding service to others. We welcome and encourage individuals and senior organizations throughout Lake County to join us in honoring these special citizens.

RSVPs due May 14:  The cost per person is $25, with all proceeds benefitting the new Lake County Council for Seniors Lending Closet. For your convenience, you may submit your payment by May 14, on the LakeCountySeniors.org website; or mail a check to Lake County Council for Seniors, 414 S. Lewis Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085.   

Nominations due May 14:  LCCS is accepting nominations until May 14 for this year’s luncheon. Nominees should reflect the senior spirit of joyfully sharing talents and gifts with others and of giving their time and assistance to the community. Individuals who are nominated will be recognized on the LCCS website, and stories of their contributions will remain on the website for one year.

To nominate an outstanding senior, complete the nominee information form on our website and mail or email to lakecountyseniors@gmail.com by May 14. Individuals submitting a nomination are responsible for the accuracy of the nominee’s qualifications, and for purchasing the ticket for the nominee’s luncheon.
