Services for Marie M. Krase of Libertyville Planned

Obituary for Marie M. Krase of Libertyville. Visitation will be held later today, and the funeral is planned for tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 11.

Marie M. Krase nee Diesing, 99, of Libertyville, died October 5, 2012 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born June 26, 1913 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (nee Frier) Diesing.

Marie was active in Scouting serving as Den Mother for 13 years and was a member of Den Chiefs at Ft. Sheridan where she was awarded the Scouter Award of the year by the North Shore Council of scouting. Marie was also active in the Rondout School where she was in charge of the hot lunch program and the Rondout 4-H club from 1947- 1955. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #329 where she served as Chaplain and Friendship Chairman for three years. She was a charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #8741 where she served as President and Poppy Chairman for several years. Recently she was formally recognized by the Libertyville Senior Council for her civic duties.

She is survived by her children Edward (Carol), Raymond (Darlene), Barbara (Late Tom) Populorum and Marvin Jr. (Kathy). Marie was the proud grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 20 and great-great grandmother of 4. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 1980 who she married March 9, 1935. 

Visitation will be held later today from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Funeral Services will be held tomorrow, Thursday October 11 at 10:00 a.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel. Internment will be following at .  If desired, memorial donations to either the V.F.W. National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Rd. Eaton Rapids, MI 48827 or the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
