Visitation for Vernon Hills resident James Sauter will be held from 3-9 p.m. April 1 at Moraine Valley Church, 6300 W. 127th St., Palos Heights. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. April 2 at the church.
Sauter, an Illinois State Police trooper, died when a semi-truck crashed into his police car early Friday morning on I-294 at Willow Road. He was 28 years old.

Interment will be private. Contributions can be made to the Sauter family in lieu of flowers.
