Lake County Sheriff Sweep Eliminates 84 Warrants

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Division concluded its largest warrants sweep on Feb. 28 with the assistance of 22 police agencies throughout the county.

A two week warrants operation coordinated by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Division resulted in the elimination of 84 out of 16,000 outstanding warrants on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The sheriff's office reported that 38 wanted subjects and four out-of-county wanted subjects were arrested Thursday, according to a sheriff's press release.

It was determined 14 Lake County warrants were quashed or the wanted subjects were deceased, and 11 Lake County warrants involved holds on subjects who were in custody at other correctional facilities.

During the two weeks, 13 wanted subjects surrendered after speaking with the Warrants Division, which then transported four Lake County wanted subjects from other correctional facilities.

The grand total by the end of the day was 84.

Numbers are still increasing as a result of all the attempts made on Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.

Prior to the warrants sweep, probation officers had been attempting to locate three of the wanted subjects who were on pre-trial bond supervision, and 10 subjects who were on probation. 

Londale Hall, 20, of the 800 Block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Waukegan, was arrested on two counts of Aggravated Battery (Class X Felony), Armed Robbery (Class X Felony), and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1) involving a shooting that occurred in North Chicago on Feb. 18.

“This warrant sweep involving 22 agencies demonstrates how lake county law enforcement works particularly well because of the willingness of our law enforcement agencies throughout the county to come together to serve the community, crime victims, and in some instances protect us all from evil,” said Sheriff Mark C Curran Jr.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Bannockburn Police Department, Buffalo Grove Police Department, College of Lake County Police Department, Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, Grayslake Police Department, Gurnee Police Department, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Illinois State Police District 2, Illinois State Police District 15, Illinois State Police Swat North, Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, Lake County Forest Preserve Police Department, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), Lakemoor Police Department, Libertyville Police Department, Lincolnshire Police Department, Lindenhurst Police Department, Mundelein Police Department, Park City Police Department, and Vernon Hills Police Department, Wauconda Police Department and Zion Police Department.
