Police Blotter: Alcohol, Retail Theft Arrests

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Sept. 25-30.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Javier Echevarria, 34, of 403 Inland Drive, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 28 near Milwaukee Avenue and Port Clinton Road. He was also cited for improper right turn and improper lane usage. He was released on his drivers license and $100 cash bond pending an Oct. 16 court date.

Charles F. Buell, 52, of 1252 Streamwood Lane, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 30 on the 500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for improper lane usage, not having insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to notify Secretary of State of address change, BAC over .08 and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending an Oct. 23 court date.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

Jasmine M. Pacheco, 18, of 1605 N. Berwick Blvd. No. 2J, Waukegan, was charged with burglary from motor vehicle Sept. 27 at Macy's, 1 Hawthorn Center. She was also cited for identity theft and credit card fraud. She was released on $20,000 bond pending an Oct. 16 court date. 

Criminal Damage to Property 

Kristen N. Bernal, 25, of 910 Cali Court, Libertyville, was charged with criminal damage to property Sept. 26 at 170 Montclair Road. She was released on a notice to appear in court Oct. 10. 

Drugs

Alex M. Lozinsky, 27, of 113 Harding Court, Vernon Hills, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Sept. 29 on the 100 block of Harding Court. He was released on $150 cash bond pending an Oct. 28 court date.

Possession of Stolen Property

Carnell Te Gilbert, 24, 7413 S. Evans Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of stolen property Sept. 25 at Mariano's, 1720 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said was found in possession of stolen cell phones. He was released on $120 cash bond pending a Nov. 14 court date. 

Retail Theft

Ariana L. Moraton, 21, of 1424 Lake St. No. 1, Evanston, was charged with retail theft Sept. 30 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said she left the store without paying for $107 worth of jewelry and clothing. She was released on a notice to appear in court Nov. 14.

Unlawful Possession of Fraudulent ID Card

Calvin C. Tucker, 48, of 6026 S. Carpenter, Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of a fraudulent ID card Sept. 25 at Mariano's, 1720 N. Milwaukee Ave. He was also cited for possession of a controlled substance and identity theft. He was remanded on $50,000 bond.
