Police Blotter: Criminal Trespass, Retail Theft Arrests

These incidents were among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Retail Theft

A 15-year-old girl was charged with retail theft Oct. 15 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for an $80 pair of boots. She was released on a notice to appear in court Nov. 8.

Ricky Fecht, 53, of 910 Westmoreland Drive No. 8, Vernon Hills, was charged with retail theft Oct. 15 at Walmart, 555 E. Townline Road. Police said he left the store without paying for almost $29 worth of windshield wiper blades. He was released on a notice to appear in court Dec. 13.

Justin S. McCall, 26, of 4121 Greenleaf Court No. 303, Park City, was charged with retail theft Oct. 16 at Best Buy, 701 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said he made fraudulent return for a total loss of nearly $1,872. He was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

A 16-year-old girl was charged with retail theft Oct. 18 at Icing, 619 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for jewelry. Her court date information was not available.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with retail theft Oct. 18 at JC Penney, 4 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for lingerie. She was released on a notice to appear in court Nov. 8.

Two women were charged with retail theft Oct. 19 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Arrested were: Valencia S. Jones, 24, of 6736 Derby, Gurnee; and Dekiya J. Pearson, 30, 1605 Jackson St. No. 3, North Chicago. Police said they left the store without paying for $386 worth of purses. Jones was released on $1,500 recognizance bond pending a Nov. 7 court date. Pearson was released on $150 cash pending a Nov. 7 court date.

Theft

A 17-year-old boy was charged with theft Oct. 18 on Monterey Drive. Police said he took packages off of his neighbors' front steps. He was referred to juvenile court.

Alcohol

Cesar Rostro, 24, of 615 Bordeaux Court, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 19 near Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road. He was also cited for BAC over .08, speeding, not having insurance, drivers license not on person and improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

William B. Oaks, 34, of 338 Cherry Creek, Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 21 near Butterfield and Golf Roads. He was also cited for BAC over .08 and speeding. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Battery

A 12-year-old girl was charged with battery Oct. 19 at Hawthorn Middle School North, 201 W. Hawthorn Pkwy. Police said she battered another juvenile while on the school bus. She was referred to juvenile court.

Criminal Trespass

Robert Khoshaba, 18, of 8025 Lyons St. Unit D, Niles, was charged with criminal trespass Oct. 21 at Hawthorn Mall, 122 Hawthorn Center. Police said he was at the mall after being warned not to return. Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of stolen clothing, police said. He was cited for possession of stolen property. He was released on a notice to appear in court Dec. 13.
