Police Blotter: Drug Charges, Retail Theft

DRUGS
A 17-year-old boy was charged with possession of cannabis while police investigated a suspicious vehicle Jan. 20 on the 100 block of Lakeview Parkway. His court date is Feb. 14.
Timothy J. Studer, 23, of 308 E. Fawn Lane, Hainesville, was charged with possession of cannabis and speeding on Jan. 23 at Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road. He was given a $120 cash bond. His court date was not available.

IDENTITY THEFT
Michael J. Pearson, 22, of 621 W. 61st Place, #2, Chicago, was charged with identity theft, forgery and possession of false identification on Jan. 24, after police said he opened a line of credit using another person’s information and then used that line of credit to purchase $1,162.62 in merchandise at JC Penney in Hawthorn. Police said Pearson was also in possession of counterfeit currency. His court date was not available.

THEFT
Kimberly S. Delacruz, 36, of 1246 S. River Road, Prospect Heights, was charged with battery, obstructing, resisting, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Jan. 25 at Kohl’s. Police said a 17-year-old girl fraudulently returned an item at the store and then used the merchandise credit to purchase $323.25 in items. Police said Delacruz left the store without paying for $109.98 in electronics and accessories. She allegedly struck the loss prevention officer who detailed her. She was remanded on a $50,000 bond and given a Feb. 5 court date. The 17-year-old was charged with retail theft and referred to juvenile court.
OBSTRUCTION
Ignacio Cirilo, 33, of 24311 77th Street, Salem, Wis., was charged with obstructing a police officer on Jan. 25 at Townline Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Police said he told an officer that he was driving the vehicle involved in an accident, when the car was actually driven by Juan A. Cirilo, 40, who lives at the same address. The driver was charged with driving without a valid license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Both were given $1,500 recognizance bonds and March 14 court dates.
