Police Blotter: Jewelry, Money Stolen From Home

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Sept. 9-11.

Retail Theft

Marco A. Machuca-Hernandez, 20, of 2200 Brookside, Waukegan, was charged with retail theft Sept. 9 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for $24 sunglasses. He was released on a notice to appear in court Oct. 11.

Two 17-year-old girls were charged with retail theft Sept. 9 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said they left the store without paying for almost $300 worth of clothing and a $130 pair of shoes. They were released on a notice to appear in court Oct. 11.

Danielle D. Bennett, 19, of 22038 N. Ridge Road, Wildwood, was charged with retail theft Sept. 11 at Macy's, 1 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for $1,075 worth of clothing. Some of the clothing was damaged when she took the security sensors off, police said. She was also cited for criminal damage to property, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was remanded on $10,000 bond.

Residential Burglary

Joshua J. Park, 21, of 356 Pine Lake Circle, Vernon Hills, was charged with residential burglary Sept. 10 on the 200 block of Crabtree Lane. Police said he took $1,260 and jewelry from the home. He was also cited for theft. He was remanded on $50,000 bond pending a Sept. 17 court date.

Criminal Trespass

Matthew Givens, 54, of 1821 Glenn Drive, North Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass Sept. 11 at David's Bridal, 700 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said he returned to the store after being warned not to. He was released on a $1,500 recognizance bond pending a Sept. 27 court date.
