Vernon Hills Could Take on Lincolnshire and Riverwoods 911 Dispatch

To save money and increase revenue, the Vernon Hills Police Department may add the communities of Lincolnshire and Riverwoods to its 911 dispatch services.

Vernon Hills Police Chief Mark Fleischhauer is reportedly in negotiations to bring Lincolnshire and Riveroods into the department's 911 dispatch center, reported the Vernon Hills Review.

If agreements can be reached, Vernon Hills could see additional annual revenue of $339,000. The village already receives $598,000 from the Village of Libertyville for handling its 911 police and fire calls, according to the Review. Vernon Hills would also need to hire two additional dispatchers, which could be transfers from Lincolnshire and Riverwoods.
