Vernon Hills Discusses Future of Holiday Light Show

If a portion of the Cuneo Garden property is developed, the village could need to find a new location for its annual holiday light show.

Vernon Hills expects to host its annual holiday light show again his year at the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens, but officials are already thinking about holiday seasons beyond 2013.

Loyola University, which owns the property, is working on an agreement with a proposed developer for a portion of the site, village officials said. “The development is some time from even starting the review process,” according to a village memo, so officials expect to hold the 2013 light show there. Details will be worked out at the Aug. 13 Village Board meeting.

But if a future development takes up some of the property that the village relies upon for its holiday event, Vernon Hills officials indicated the show will go on somewhere in the village.
