Are you looking for something to do this week? Here's a look at some events coming up:
- The Vernon Hills Park District will hold its first of the season from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Peterson Park.
- The Vernon Hills Village Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. June 5. The committee-of-the-whole meeting will immediately follow the meeting. Topics for discussion at the latter meeting include video gaming and consideration of a special use permit to allow a business called Skillshots Pinball to operate in a building near Routes 21 and 45.
- Need some plant-related advice? The Master Gardeners of Lake County will be available to answer your questions at the Aspen Drive Library from 6 to 8 p.m. June 6. Registration is not necessary for this event.
- The Vernon Hills Park District will hold Kids Fishing Day from 9 a.m. to noon June 9 on Big Bear Lake in Century Park. For more information, visit the park district website.
- The Cook Memorial Library kicked off its annual summer reading program, Dream Big: Read, on June 1. Details about the program are available on the library's website.
