CLC Trustees Approve Adjunct Faculty Contract

The College of Lake County is also now a member of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

The College of Lake County Board of Trustees approved a three-year contract with adjunct faculty at the Aug. 28 regularly scheduled monthly meeting, concluding a negotiation process that began in November 2011. The faculty, who are represented by the Adjunct Faculty Organization Local 504 IFT-AFT/AFL-CIO, approved the contract on Aug. 18.

Adjunct faculty will receive a 2.5 percent increase in each of the three years covered by the contract, which runs from Aug. 18, 2012, through the end of the 2014-15 academic year.

“Our adjunct faculty members contribute much to the quality of instruction at CLC, and they are an important part of the college community,” said Board Chairman Richard Anderson after the meeting. “We are pleased that we have arrived at a fair and fiscally responsible contract agreement.”

College Joins Lake County Major Crimes Task Force

Acting on a recommendation of CLC Police Chief Thomas Guenther, the trustees approved the college’s participation in the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

The Task Force members consist of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police, Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office and participating Lake County police departments.

According to Guenther, participating in the Task Force will expand the resources available to the college should it need to conduct a major crime investigation.
