VHHS Students Selected for All-Star Performance

Three Vernon Hills High School students will serve on the cast and crew of the Illinois High School Theatre Festiva's All-Star Play in 2014.

Three Vernon Hills High School students have been selected to the cast and crew of the 2014 Illinois High School Theatre Festival's All-State Play.

Senior Douglas Millar will be in the cast, while senior Alex Nelson and sophomore Scott Knier will be on the crew. This year's play will be John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, adapted by Frank Galati.

This will mark Nelson's second All-State production. He was also on the crew for last year's production of Memphis at the University of Illinois.

Play auditions were held over three weekends in June at three different locations so that students from the entire state could audition.

Performances of The Grapes of Wrath will be held in January during the Illinois High School Theatre Festival at Illinois State University.

IHSTF is an annual gathering of more than 4,000 high school teachers and students from all across Illinois. The three-day festival features workshops, performances and college auditions, with the highlight of the weekend being the All-State Play.
