Blackhawk Coaches Vernon Hills Hockey Camp

Former Blackhawks players are helping teach kids about the game at a camp in Vernon Hills this week.

Former Blackhawk Jim Cummins is in town this week, sharing some of his experience with Vernon Hills hockey players, the Mundelein Review reports. Having a Blackhawk in Vernon Hills was an exciting part of the camp for area kids, especially after the recent Stanley Cup victory.
Cummins gave a pep talk to the kids, citing his experience as a player, and skated along the kids who are part of a week-long camp at Glacier Ice Arena. He told the kids that hard work and focus is necessary in the game. He also gave them skating and playing tips. Other Blackhawks players also are in town for the camp, including Eddie Olczyk, Steve Konroyd and Steve Dubinsky. They will help finish up the camp this week.
