Stevenson High School Grad Wins Gold at Maccabiah Games
Mike Wilner won first place in the men's gymnastics still rings competition, the Daily Herald reports.
A 2011 Stevenson High School graduate brought home the gold in the still rings competitionat the 2013 Maccabiah Games held in Israel last month, the Daily Heraldreports.
Mike Wilner of Buffalo Grove scored 15.45 in the gymnastics contest, beating out the rest of the international competition. Wilner is now a member of the University of Illinois men’s gymnastics team, according to the newspaper.
The Maccabiah Games are held every four years in Israel to foster athletic competition among the Jewish community around the world.
