Job seekers are invited to attend the JobMarketPlace Job Fair on Thursday, May 23, sponsored by the College of Lake County Career and Placement Services office. The fair will be held from 1-5 p.m. in the P.E. Center, Building 7, 19351 W. Washington St., in Grayslake. This is Lake County’s largest job fair, where participants can explore full-time, part-time, seasonal and professional job opportunities with more than 70 employers. In 2012, about 50 employers attended the annual job fair, according to Sylvia Johnson Jones, executive director of the CLC Career and Placement Services office. Currently, minors ages 14 to 17 are allowed to tan if they provide a parent's signature. Spray-on tanning is exempt from the legislation, as is phototherapy, which applies to situations where a physician supervises tanning when it is necessary to treat a medical condition. Stevenson High School fell to Fenwick in the state water polo championships this weekend. The team lost by a score of 10-4 to the powerful Fenwick team, who has won the state title in water polo nine times in the last 10 years, the Stevenson Daily Digest reports. This was the second time Stevenson made it to the state finals in the sport, also coming in second in 2004, the Sun Times reports. To keep more than 30,000 acres of forest preserves in Lake County safe, clean and open for people to enjoy, the Lake County Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners adopted a reduced fiscal year 2013-2014 budget of $101.5 million at its May 14 meeting. For the fifth consecutive year, total forest preserve property tax revenues collected are projected to decrease substantially due to declines in Lake County’s equalized assessed value (EAV), and because of the district's conservative budgeting practices and wise use of available fiscal resources. The first-degree murder trial of Ronald Stolberg got underway Monday.
A wrongful death suit has been filed against a former Vernon Hills man accused of killing his wife in June 2011, allegedly because she interrupted his sleep. Ronald Stolberg, 49, is charged with four counts of murder. Jury selection was to begin Monday, reported the Daily Herald. Suggesting she was murdered for her money, the family of victim Rachel Stolberg is seeking damages of more than $150,000, according to the Daily Herald. While he was out on bond, Ronald Stolberg allegedly sold the couple's home and attempted to take money out of the victim's bank account, reported the Lake County News-Sun.

Absolutely should have a ban on them tanning. They should also ban them from going out on sunny days. Also, make sure they don't get jobs for this is bad,bad,bad. Teenagers should be confined to dark basement with tons of violent video games, and pharmaceuticals.   more ›
