I think that's a brilliant idea. We will do the tree and plaque perhaps for his birthday. We willRead More do the balloons this time but it's really important to us to keep a clean and beautiful earth but even more a clean and beautiful USA so from the very beginning we decided to use bio-degradable balloons. That way it can be something we do every year as a dedication to Irwin Cohen.

Thank you Richard for understanding my intentions regarding honoring your father. I am glad youRead More already thought of using bio-degradable balloons. I was not trying to appear as if I was riding a high horse as was suggested. I was just trying to give you another possible and longer lasting idea for the dedication to your father. Your father would be proud of you and your brother for taking my suggestion as only that, a suggestion. May you have a long and successful future in judo. God bless you.

What a lovely tribute to your dad. Our daughter was one of his students. We were very saddened byRead More his passing. I just want to add that I have a balloon business and the balloons are not the problem, they are biodegradable. It is the ribbons that get tangled in power lines and birds swallow them. If you can release the balloons from bags or loose without the ribbons it would be fine. We did that with a message in the balloon with our email address. We got an email from a farmer in Iowa where the balloon landed in his field. If you have time to put messages in the balloons before the tribute that would be a very touching addition.
