Vernon Hills Police to Take on Dispatch for Lincolnshire

Shared services will include emergency and non-emergency fire and police calls, public inquiries and more, according to the Chicago Tribune.

An intergovernmental agreement has been approved between the villages of Lincolnshire and Vernon Hills for sharing emergency dispatch services over the next five years, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Beginning around Oct. 1, the Vernon Hills Police Department's 911 communications center will handle police and fire dispatch calls for Lincolnshire.

The consolidation is expected to save Lincolnshire about $1 million over five years, and provide additional revenue for Vernon Hills, according to the story.
