Parade, Fireworks Mark July 4 in Vernon Hills

The parade will be held at 9 a.m. and will start at Deerpath and Atrium Drive.

A parade, fireworks and live entertainment will mark the village of Vernon Hills' annual Independence Day celebration.

The parade will be held at 9 a.m. July 4 at Deerpath and Atrium Drive, just south of Highway 60. The parade route will continue south to Sullivan Drive and then west to Aspen. Demonstration areas will include:

  • Deerpath at Warrington
  • Deerpath at Abilene
  • Deerpath and Sullivan
  • Sullivan and Appian Way
  • Aspen and Alpine

Parade entries this year include Mayor Roger Byrne and village trustees; American Legion Post 1247; local Scout troops; Christ Lutheran Church; Countryside Fire; Mariano's Fresh Market; the Roaring 57's Shriners; Stiltwalker; and many more.

Live entertainment will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in Century Park, and the fireworks are set to begin at about 9:30 p.m. over Big Bear and Little Bear lakes.
